In Greene County district court Tesa Renee Bins 20, of Jefferson was sentenced to a total of 730 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to criminal mischief- fourth degree and assault on a person in certain occupation (peace officer). On the assault charge, Binns was sentenced to 365 days in jail. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on informal probation for one year. She was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge.

Court costs were $195. A companion case in magistrate court in which Binns was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct was dismissed, with $60 court costs assessed against Binns.

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Jacob Charles Lane, 27, of Grand Junction, possession of marijuana- first offense and possession of methamphetamine- first offense; Timothy J. Lee, 59, of Paton, operating while intoxicated- second offense; William Russell Griffin, 41, of Rippey, domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury and solicitation to commit felony; Latoya Watkins, 35, of Fort Dodge, child endangerment (two counts); and Robert Earl Rivers Sr, 55, of Fort Dodge, assault while displaying dangerous weapon. Lee’s trial date was set for Aug. 23; trial dates of Sept. 27 were set for all other defendants.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Joey Ann Godwin, 35, of Jefferson, burglary- third degree (motor vehicle); Christina L. Owens, 30, of Jefferson, operate vehicle without owner’s consent; and Margaret Jessica Ruth Wilson, 40, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine- first offense.
